Together: Zone Club Anthems

Ever since the first lockdown in March 2020, Zone Club has been meeting online every month to the creativity of learning disabled young adults across Wiltshire. By contributing images, stories and lyric ideas, the participants and dedicated staff have been able to write a unique collection of songs that are as diverse as they are musically spectacular. Join us for the launch of their new CD, which is a defining record of all they have created and achieved in a year of social distancing and online participation.

A Crowdfunder Appeal is currently underway to support the production of Zone Club’s new album – a culmination of a year’s collaboration between Zone Clubbers and dedicated staff members, celebrating creativity and resilience.

The Crowdfunder Appeal is aiming to reach £2,000 to fund the costs of the CD production, as well as facilitate the ongoing Zone Club monthly sessions. Currently, at just over 50% of the target with a week to go, the Crowdfunding campaign ends on 11^th December with an album launch concert at Wiltshire Music Centre.

Karl Bevis, Creative Producer for Zone Club said, “Zone Club has been supporting the creation of learning disabled young adults for nearly 20 years. When we had to lockdown we all knew it was vital to continue this support, given how isolated we can easily become. The Zone Clubbers ideas during Virtual Zone Club were incredible, and now the Together CD is truly inspirational as it is shown that they still have plenty to say!

Zone Club offers a safe and creative space for disabled young adults to share their collective passion for music – from rapping, singing, songwriting, music tech, conducting to drumming! Led by a freelance team of practitioners of music-therapists, musicians, actors and other arts specialists, Zone Club meets monthly to give young adults aged 16+ inspirational creative experiences.

Cassie Tait, Head of Creative Learning & Community Engagement at Wiltshire Music Centre said, “We are all so proud and excited to share the incredible album of songs our Zone Club have created over lockdown.  The songs will make you dance, weep and everything in between! The Crowdfunding campaign ends on 11^th December with the album launch concert at Wiltshire Music Centre; a once in a lifetime experience for Zone Club members to perform their own songs.
