Join Bradford on Avon Town Council’s Green Spaces Officer, Chris Hogg and professional bat ecologist, Ellie Hack for a nighttime walk through the Barton Farm country park, looking for wildlife including fungi, newts and bats.
Bat masks will be available to wear (fancy dress optional!)
Please meet by the noticeboard at Barton Bridge.
We won’t walk fast – and there will be a couple of benches to rest on the way. The route will be on surfaced paths or grass, with one slope up to the canal and steps down, though we can vary the route if it helps.
Nature is weather dependent – and bats don’t tend to come out if it’s cold or wet – so we may need to rearrange if conditions aren’t suitable.
Please bring a torch and dress appropriately for the weather on the day, including sturdy footwear – even in June, it can get cold at night). Bring any food or drink that you may need.
Children accompanied by a responsible adult are very welcome.
Well behaved and quiet dogs on a short lead are welcome – always carry poo bags to clear up after your dog.
Please note, the finish time of 11pm is approximate.
