Nature Walk to Avoncliff

Price: £Free

A varied walk which takes in several contrasting habitats: canal towpath, cattle pasture, an ancient wood with a rich variety of trees and wild flowers, a country lane and finally a riverside walk.

There is some climbing to reach the wood; the path through the wood is undulating and uneven with tree roots and stones to negotiate; the metaled lane down to Avoncliff is fairly steep; the path beside the river can be muddy, even waterlogged after heavy rain, in which case we might take an alternative route.

Boots definitely recommended, even wellies, unless we are in a long dry spell when trainers would probably be sufficient. A bottle of water recommended.

Well behaved dogs are welcome but please bring poo bags to clean up after your dog.

Children welcome too but probably a bit demanding for primary school age.

The walk is approximately 3 miles.

Arranged in cooperation with Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon.
