This June we’ll be celebrating the wide variety of community groups, charities, clubs and social groups that Bradford on Avon has to offer.
BoA Join In! is an opportunity for not-for-profit groups across the town to showcase themselves to residents of all ages.
Over 30 groups and organisations are currently signed up to take part and will be offering information, and in some cases, a little taster of what they do.
Whether you’re looking for new clubs for the kids, volunteering opportunities or just a way to meet new people, there’s sure to be something for everyone.
Enjoy tea and cake with one of Saxon Group Riding for the Disabled Association’s ponies.
Take part in Arts Together’s drop-in map making workshop, enjoy a free hand massage from Karen at the BoA Community Church, toast marshmallows with the Girlguiding group or try your luck at the Lions Club tombola.
There’ll also be a whole host of other activities on offer from BoA Youth, U3A, the Swift Group, Alzheimer’s Support and the Men’s Shed, plus information and displays from many others.
West Wilts Radio will also be broadcasting live from the event from 1pm to 2pm – giving attendees a chance to make a request live on air.
The event coincides with the end of Volunteers Week, and there’ll be a chance to discover the wide range of volunteering opportunities in the town from BoA Youth Football and Dorothy House, to the Bradford on Avon Museum and Wiltshire Link Community Transport.
The date also marks the start of this year’s Great Big Green Week and Climate Friendly will be there to help you upcycle your old clothing by block printing with environmentally friendly inks – so do bring along those faded items at the back of the wardrobe waiting for a new lease of life.
