Climate Impacts in Nepal & Bangladesh

Price: £Free, donations welcome

About this Event

In a departure from normal, our June Meeting:

‘Climate Impacts in Nepal and Bangladesh and How COP26 Needs to Act to Address Them’

…is IN THE AFTERNOON on Monday June 21st at 2.30pm on Zoom.

This is because our main speaker, Sunil Acharya, is based in Nepal, and 2.30pm is already 7.30pm for him. Sunil works for Practical Action, a charity supporting communities in the poorest countries to help address the many challenges they face.

Climate change is causing many problems in Nepal and Bangladesh for rural and urban communities, and Sunil who is the regional adviser on climate and resilience, will talk about these, and about what his government, and Practical Action, are hoping will be agreed in Glasgow at the COP.

Colin McQuistan, from Practical Action’s UK office, will give a brief introduction to the overall programme of the organisation’s work on climate change. He will be attending COP26.
