We’re excited to announce that Bradford on Avon’s Christmas Lights Switch-On is back on Friday 28 November (4pm to 8pm) in Westbury Garden – sponsored by
BLB Solicitors!
While Storm Bert forced us to cancel last year’s event – it just means that we’re determined to make this year bigger and better.
Get ready for a festive evening packed with live music, a fairground and plenty more – all leading up to the big moment when the town’s lights are switched on by Mayor, Councillor Jack Vittles at 6pm.
Right after the lights are switched on at 6.01pm, local favourites
Karport Collective will take to the stage in Westbury Garden and keep the party going until 8pm.
In the run-up to the big event, the town will be getting into the festive spirit with the traditional Christmas tree in Westbury Garden, sponsored by the
Bradford on Avon Lions Club.
You’ll also spot beautifully decorated trees at the Tithe Barn (sponsored by the
Bradford on Avon Preservation Trust), outside the railway station (sponsored by
Great Western Railway) and the Giving Tree in Lamb Yard, once again provided by the town council.
What’s happening
There will be fairground rides in the library car park on Bridge Street, while St Margaret’s car park will be filled with delicious food and drink stalls.
You’ll also find some wonderful gift stalls in Westbury Garden to get everyone in the festive spirit.
Don’t forget, the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) will be open until 8pm, so you can pick up your
Cards for Good Causes Christmas cards while you’re there.
Santa will also be at the TIC with his travelling grotto from 5pm to 8pm, so be sure to drop in with your wish list!
Plus, if you head into Lamb Yard, you’ll find more live music and the Giving Tree – celebrating 11 years of festive generosity. As well as more wonderful artisan stalls.
This year, the Giving Tree is collecting for Bath Cats & Dogs Home, Julian House and The Hub @BA15.
And there’s more! Enjoy late-night shopping in the town centre, where our fantastic local shops are ready to help you find the perfect Christmas gifts.
In the run-up to the event, look up and you’ll see mini-Christmas trees and sparkling lights brightening the fronts of local BOA businesses.
