Join the Friends of Oleksandriya for a unique cinematic and musical experience. Featuring five fantastic independent films and poignant performances by Illia Bondarenko’s piano quintet, Ukraine: Within and Beyond is a beautiful tribute to Ukraine. It spotlights the strength of the country and the power of its people.
The five films build a picture of the experiences lived by Ukrainian people today, for those who remain and those who are displaced. Through the darkness and the pain, there is love. Love for the land, love for the culture, and – beyond all else – a love for the people we hold in our hearts.
Acclaimed composer Illia Bondarenko will offer a glimpse into the music of Ukraine, performing works by twentieth-century modernist composer Borys Lyatoshynsky and Bondarenko’s own, as well as the first movement of Robert Schumann’s Piano Quintet.
This is a charitable concert which will support vital humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
