Fast living, cynical London music executive reluctantly heads to Cornwall on a colleague’s stag weekend where he’s pranked by his boss into trying to sign a group of shanty-singing fishermen. He becomes the ultimate ‘fish out of water’ struggling to gain the respect or enthusiasm of the unlikely boy band who value friendship and community over fame and fortune.
Attempting to overcome the fishermen’s scepticism about the music business, he finds himself drawn into the community, has his integrity tested and ultimately is shown the meaning of loyalty, love and friendship. This forces him to re-evaluate what really matters in life; ultimately giving him the chance of a different kind of success.
Doors open at 1:30pm for a 2pm start.
Tickets £4.50 each including light refreshments. Discounts available for pre-booked groups of 5+ and carers go free when requested at pre-booking.
Wiltshire Heights care home and BOA Town Council have joined forces to launch a community cinema in Bradford on Avon at St Margaret’s Hall. The idea came from conversations at the care home with regards to accessible cinema viewings.
Libby Miles of Wiltshire Heights said:
“Our residents talked to us about modern films that they would like to see in a cinema environment. Some of our residents have mobility issues or are living with dementia which could make being in a regular cinema environment very difficult for them.”
The idea behind the “Tuesday Matinee Club” is to make it accessible to all so there is cinema style tiered seating, as well as more informal seating around tables. There is also a short interval to provide a break in the film for refreshments and a comfort break.
