There are two parts to this event
In the afternoon, you are invited to greet the Pilgrims as they arrive at the Tithe Barn at about 3pm, especially children! We will then walk to the United Church The focus will be on children and feeling the special atmosphere created as children are encouraged to read a chosen poem. This time dedicated to children is due to end between 4:30-5pm, when everyone can enjoy the unique artwork, see the display of the “Dress of Impossible Tears” as well as buy poetry books and special Hands up Tee shirts.
At 6pm, everyone is invited to join us for Iftar when we will be serving Middle Eastern food. Although there is no ticket price, the suggested donation is between £5-10.00. Please let us know if you are intending to join us for food by sending an email to boafriendsofpalestine@gmail.com with P4P Food in the title with number of eaters.
The main event is between 7-9pm in the United Church Sanctuary space: we will hear poems and prose read by inspiring speakers including Alaa Alqaisi, Alaa Shqair, Peter Oswald, Nick Bilborough, and Palestinians in the diaspora. There will also be a live stream from the Hands up Project connecting us with Palestinian children involved in the project.
