This Sunday’s Walkers are Welcome walk:
SUNDAY 9th FEBRUARY Leaving 9.30 a.m. from the Tourist Information Centre, Westbury House Gardens BA15 1DE
Richard Craft will be our leader for this 6.5 mile walk. We’ll climb out of town through the terraces of Tory and out past The Dog & Fox, passing through Ashley to Inwood. Skirting Conkwell our return takes us past Hartley Farm, across the St Laurence School playing field and back down through the Tory terraces by a different route.
There are eight stiles to negotiate and a mixture of path surfaces, including muddy field paths (how can we possibly avoid mud this time of year?) but quite a bit of the route will be on tarmac. There is currently a lot of unavoidable standing water in the lanes, so do wear waterproof footwear and the muddy sections are quite slippery in places so walking poles are advised.
Please bring your own refreshment for a short stop en route.
