Arts Association Coach Trip- Day Trip to Oxford
Price: £17 for non members
Our arrival and departure point is the famous Ashmolean museum and art gallery which is ideally situated for the city centre and in easy walking distance of numerous places of interest.
The city is steeped in history, fine architecture, culture, film and TV locations and traditions. Many people find the official guided walking tours (the university colleges tour is popular, although there are other themed tours) a good way of exploring the city. Similarly a bus tour, with about 20 on off stops and a commentary, is a good way of learning about the city. The Tourist Information Centre in Broad Street is always a good place to start if you want help in planning your day.
We recommend using the internet to discover more about all the attractions. You can find websites with details of exhibitions, events, opening times of places of interest, etc. for the time of our visit.
Oxford is also great for shopping, from the wonderful covered market (established in 1774) to the modern, remodelled Westgate Centre. There is also an abundance of delightful independent shops as well as some well-known national retailers.
